Frequently Asked Questions
Why did the company change its name from “Paint It Austin” to Brush Hour Painting, Texas?
We rebranded to Brush Hour Painting Texas to better reflect our growth beyond just Austin, and the expanded range of services we now offer. While we started as a local residential painting company, we have grown to include large-scale commercial projects, and professional pressure washing. The new name represents our evolution into a full-service exterior and interior painting solution provider for the entire Greater Austin Area.
Are you insured to work in the Austin area?
Yes. Brush Hour Painting is a fully insured professional painting contractor. We carry insurance to protect our clients and our crew. We believe in providing peace of mind alongside quality craftsmanship, ensuring that every project, from a single room to a commercial complex, is handled with the highest level of professional accountability.
How should I prepare my home or business before the painters arrive?
For interior projects, we recommend removing small breakables, wall hangings, and electronics from the work area. For exterior jobs, please ensure that vehicles are moved away from the building and that pets are kept in a secure area. Our team handles the heavy lifting, including moving large furniture to the center of the room and covering all floors and surfaces with professional-grade drop cloths and plastic.
What is included in your “prep work” process?
We believe that a great paint job is 90% preparation. Our process includes pressure washing exterior surfaces to remove dirt and mildew, scraping away loose paint, sanding rough areas, and filling any cracks or holes with high-quality caulk or wood filler. For interiors, we ensure walls are clean and primed where necessary to guarantee the best possible adhesion and a flawless finish.
Will you help me choose the right colors and paint types?
Absolutely. Choosing the right palette can be overwhelming, so we offer expert consultations to help you select a color scheme that fits your style or brand. We also provide guidance on the best types of paint for your specific needs, whether you require high-durability finishes for high-traffic commercial hallways or weather-resistant coatings designed to withstand the brutal Texas sun.
How do you minimize disruption to my daily routine or business operations?
We understand that your time is valuable. Our crews maintain a clean, organized, and quiet workspace to ensure minimal impact on your home life or business. We work according to a pre-arranged schedule, provide a project manager on-site at all times for clear communication, and perform a thorough daily cleanup so you can continue to use your space with as little inconvenience as possible.
